SAP S/4 HANA Speedboat

As already teased in the last newsletter, we have decided, together with our X1F sister companies XPACT and IKOR, to invest even more in the topic of S/4 HANA and to add another building block to the transfer of know-how.
The S/4 HANA Speedboat Initiative was launched in mid-2023 in order to optimally prepare and advise our customers for the necessary SAP release change by the end of maintenance in 2027, or 2030 at the latest. The teams of the participating X1F sisters have set themselves the task of distributing the S/4 knowledge of the individual companies and thus offering our customers even more than individual companies can offer on their own.
Specifically, the Speedboat team is working on the development of a holistic consulting approach in order to be able to advise an S/4 project in the three project phases from the preliminary study to the actual project and after the go-live.

1 I 3 Preliminary analysis
In the first phase, the pre-project or strategy phase, we lay the foundations for a successful transition. We carry out a thorough SAP Readiness Check to determine the current status of the customer and identify potential challenges. We then analyze the business processes to understand how they can be transferred to the new S/4 HANA environment. Furthermore, we provide our customers with expert advice, identify gaps between the existing systems and S/4 HANA and develop a customized transition concept to ensure a smooth transition.
2 I 3 Implementation/ Conversion
In the second phase, which we call the transformation phase, we concentrate on the practical implementation of our plans. We configure the S/4 HANA environment according to the customer’s specific requirements and business processes and ensure a smooth migration of their data.
Using a sandbox system, we offer future end users the opportunity to familiarize themselves with S/4 and learn how to use it. We establish future-proof requirements that cannot be implemented in the standard system in the possible expansion scenarios. We actively support the customer in their digital transformation and offer training and effective requirements management to ensure that all needs are taken into account.
3 I 3 Go-Live & Hypercare
We also stand by our customers in the third phase, the go-live, and continue our support. In addition to the implementation of optimization potential and new requirements, we are also on hand to implement enhancements in order to exploit the full potential of S/4 HANA. We attach great importance to continuously improving the user experience and constantly increasing user-friendliness.
With our structured phases and forward-looking consulting, we help our customers benefit from their investment in SAP S/4 HANA in the long term.
The first milestone of the Speedboat was reached with the development and initial implementation of a comprehensive 12-day training course for employees of the X1F sister companies. The aim of the training is both to train existing S/4 experts and to train new S/4 resources in order to be able to staff transformation projects optimally. Divided into six different modules, the training course prepares participants for the above-mentioned tasks. Now that the first 16 SAP-experienced training participants have successfully completed the training, we are looking forward to many new impulses on the topic and the second training run planned for Q2/2024.
We are convinced that the Speedboat Initiative will enable us to establish cross-sister coordination and the development of a comprehensive best-practice consulting approach. Each X1F sister company can optimally contribute its strengths in order to offer our customers well thought-out and comprehensive advice and the best possible end result.
