Business Analytics in HR
Data-driven decision-making in recruiting

In the age of digitalization and technological progress, data has taken on a prominent role in many areas of business. In HR and recruiting in particular, data-driven decisions offer enormous potential to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of HR decisions. By considering and specifically evaluating this information and data, HR departments can make targeted and informed decisions instead of relying solely on gut instinct. Unique insights into objective information about applicants:inside and the labor market become possible!

Kai Viakofsky

“My ADWEKO dashboard enables me, in addition to insights into our complex world of key figures, to recognize valuable correlations, interpret them accordingly and derive actions from them.” Kai Viakofsky, Human Resources Officer at
Impulse Social Management

These are all aspects that speak in favor of data-driven work in HR, but in reality it is precisely the creation of such reports that represents a considerable effort driver.

Typical challenges are:

  • Data availability
  • Data quality
  • Scope of the “data
  • Long processing times
  • Manual processing due to limited capabilities
  • Disregarding important contexts

These were exactly the challenges we faced at ADWEKO when we started setting up internal HR reporting a good 5 years ago. With the introduction and connection of an appropriate BI tool, we were already able to solve a large part of the problems.

Suddenly it was possible, among other things, …

  • keep an eye on the data in real time – PowerBI, Tableau and other reporting tools allow users to track the current status of their KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and immediately identify potential problems or opportunities. You can react directly and proactively to changes and adapt business strategies
  • Integrate data from different sources – merging different data sources such as data from the applicant management system, HR master system, ERP system or the HR development solution allow you to get a comprehensive picture of business activities. Silos are broken down, providing a holistic view of the business!
  • visualize data in a way that is suitable for the recipient – complex data structures and large amounts of data are “transformed” into comprehensible graphics, diagrams and dashboards. An example of this: the “ADWEKO Blueprint”.

Together with our partner and solution provider for recruiting systems d.vinci, we have leveraged this knowledge and combined their HR expertise with ADWEKO’s BI/Business Analytics know-how. The ADWEKO blueprint is now used to build and expand individual HR dashboards.
